ABC has suspended Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show following his comments about Charlie Kirk’s killing, which led to several stations refusing to air the show. The move was supported by a top federal regulator, who praised the stations for pushing back against the network. Kimmel’s remarks about Kirk’s death were deemed offensive and insensitive by Nexstar Communications Group, prompting the suspension of his show. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr applauded the actions taken by the affiliate groups and hinted at potential consequences for Kimmel, ABC, and parent company Walt Disney Co. amid allegations of spreading misinformation. President Donald Trump commended ABC for the decision, while Kimmel’s future on television remains uncertain.
